Fire danger for most of South Australia

The Murraylands has a Severe rating, along with Flinders, Mid North, Kangaroo Island, Riverland and Lower South East, while the Northeast Pastoral, Adelaide Metro and Upper South East have been rated Very High.

The West Coast and Northwest Pastoral are rated as Catastrophic while theEastern, Lower Eyre and Yorke peninsulas and the Mt Lofty Ranges have been rated as Extreme.

Where fire ban districts have a forecast rating ofCatastrophic, well prepared, well constructed and defended homes may not be safe during a fire. To ensure survival people should leave early.

In arating ofExtreme, only well prepared, well constructed and actively defended houses are likely to offer safety during a fire while aforecast rating ofSeverewell prepared and actively defended houses can offer.

If people don’t have a plan to ensure their survival, leaving early before a fire starts is the safest option.

Landowners are asked to adhere to local harvest codes of practice which are available from your local council.

A cool change is forecast to sweep through the State with tomorrow’s predicted temperature to average around 25-degrees.
